The Walfredo Reyes Jr. Trio - featuring drummer/percussionist Reyes, keyboardist Ben Tweedt, and bassist Matt Wiles - centers performances around classic repertoire from the pop, jazz, and world music catalogs. Using an eclectic array of styles, the band captivates audiences with often spontaneous interpretations of well-loved music, deep grooves, and fearless improvisation. Walfredo Reyes Jr. is one of the most versatile, respected, and in-demand drummers in the world today. Whether in the studio recording, touring, or teaching around the world, he is an Artist who passionately gives all of his heart and soul to each musical situation he is involved with. Wally's driving passion is to learn, perform, and teach the music of the world and its rich history. With this in mind, he has put together an Instructional DVD, "Global Beats" by Hal Leonard Publishing. He has also released two CDs, "WallyWorld" and "Jamming at the Baked Potato." Wally is touring as the drummer for the "Hall of Fame" legendary rock band Chicago. Ben Tweedt is a pianist, composer, and arranger based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ben is known for his lush harmonies, intricate compositions, and lyrical improvisation and is one of the highest-demand young musicians in the Midwest. His pieces and repertoire reflect his wide range of musical interests, including jazz, gospel, European classical, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian music. In recent years, Ben has collaborated with such illustrious artists as Dan Wilson (Christian McBride, Joey DeFrancesco), Walfredo Reyes Jr. (Chicago, Santana, Joe Sample, Tania Maria), and Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon, Bokante, Dave Liebman) and was the winner of the 2019 American Jazz Pianist Competition. Based in Cincinnati, OH, Matt Wiles is an in-demand acoustic, electric, and synth bassist performing throughout the United States. Matt has toured the region as both a performer and clinician at notable venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Bop Stop, BluJazz+, The Blue Wisp, Rudy's Jazz Room, Bar Next Door at La Lanterna, Belmont University, PNC Pavilion, Rose Music Center, and many more. You can hear Matt on stage with jazz/rock/fusion band Spherical Agenda, renowned drummer/percussionist Walfredo Reyes Jr., trombonist/composer Sam Blakeslee's Wistful Thinking, guitarist/composer Brandon Coleman, singer/songwriter David McGlynn, and many others. He is featured on the albums Arcane Wisdom (Spherical Agenda), The Long Middle (Wistful Thinking), Life's Moments (David McGlynn), and many more. Matt has performed with other highly acclaimed artists such as Snarky Horns, Il Divo, Nicole Zuraitis, Gary Versace, Joel Frahm, Fareed Haque, Dan Wilson, Teddy Kumpel, Glenn Zaleski, and The Drifters. A $15 drink/food minimum is charged per person in the party, per set, if the total for beverages purchased by the party does not meet the minimum.
